Senior Construction Accountant

Emeryville, CA

The Opportunity:

A California Bay Area General Construction company is confidentially looking for a Senior Construction Accountant to join their team in person in their East Bay Office. This is a highly critical, high-impact role at the center of their financial operations and project execution infrastructure. This role bridges accounting, operations, and vendor management to ensure the financial and administrative backbone of the business runs smoothly and accurately. As the Senior Construction Accountant you’ll serve as the organization's primary Accounting point-person, supporting the Partners of the firm and owning critical internal accounting and operational processes, driving efficiency and optimizations throughout the function, and ensuring the company and projects are set up for success. You’ll work closely with the Partners, External Accounting firm, vendors, project managers - internal and external stakeholders.

Working closely with Leadership, Project Managers, vendors, and external accounting partners, you will ensure that financial processes—from vendor payments and project billing to payroll coordination and compliance—are executed with precision. Your work will directly support project profitability, vendor accountability, and the company’s ability to scale efficiently. If you enjoy building organized systems, keeping financial operations running smoothly, and supporting fast-moving construction projects, this role is a great fit.

Who You Are:

You are a highly organized and detail-oriented operator who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, and project execution. You enjoy creating structure, maintaining accurate systems, and ensuring the financial details behind the scenes are handled correctly.

You are comfortable managing multiple workflows at once—from vendor payments and payroll coordination to project billing and compliance tracking. You are proactive, communicative, and naturally curious when something doesn’t look right. Rather than waiting for issues to surface, you identify risks early and work with stakeholders to resolve them.

You are also a collaborative partner who understands how accounting functions support the broader success of construction projects. You communicate effectively with vendors, project managers, leadership, and external accounting partners, bringing professionalism and clarity to every interaction.
